November 2021 Newsletter – J.C.C.O.A.A.

Welcome to the November 2021 Jackson County and Josephine County A.A. Newsletter. Thank you for subscribing.  Please help us get the word out about this resource by sharing this with your friends.

In this month’s Newsletter, we share the principle of Spiritual Awakening. I think that the Daily Reflections shares an exceptional story that defines what is spiritual awakening. I hope that you find it helpful as you search for this principle in your life, but please always remember that even though only you can walk the steps of your recovery, you don’t have to walk it alone.

As the Big Book reminds us in A Vision For You, “… there is a substitute and it is vastly more than that. It is a fellowship in Alcoholics Anonymous. There you will find release from care, boredom, and worry. Your imagination will be fired. Life will mean something at last. The most satisfactory years of your existence lie ahead. Thus, we find the fellowship, and so will you” (A.A.W.S., 2001, p. 152).

“Many of us in A.A. puzzle over what is a spiritual awakening. I tended to look for a miracle, something dramatic and earth-shattering. But what usually happens is that a sense of well-being, a feeling of peace, transforms us into a new level of awareness. That’s what happened to me. My insanity and inner turmoil disappeared, and I entered into a new dimension of hope, love, and peace. I think the degree to which I continue to experience this new dimension is in direct proportion to the sincerity, depth, and devotion with which I practice the Twelve Steps of A.A.”  Reprinted from Daily Reflections, December 5, copyright © 1990 with permission from Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc.

I hope you enjoy this edition of the Newsletter. Please know that your feedback is appreciated and welcome.

As you enjoy the upcoming holiday season, I pray that God always blesses you, keeps you, and protects you, but most importantly I pray that you continually lean on God, hold onto God, and never ever lose faith … or grip.

Sincerely, your friend,

Winslow C.
